چکیده

This paper presents an ultrafast CMOS flash A/D converter design and performance. Although the featured A/D converter is designed in CMOS, the performance is compatible to that of GaAs technology currently available. To achieve high-speed in CMOS, the featured A/D converter utilizes the Threshold Inverter Quantization (TIQ) technique. A 6-bit TIQ based flash A/D converter was designed with the 0.25 m standard CMOS technology parameter. It operates with sampling rates up to 1 GSPS, dissipates 66.87mW of power at 2.5 V , and occupies 0.013 mm area. The proposed A/D converter is suitable for Systemon-Chip (SOC) applications in wireless products and other ultra high speed applications.

High-Speed Data Conversion for Digital Ultra-Wideband Radio Receivers

Ultra wideband radio (UWB) is a new high-speed wireless technology that uses subnanosecond pulses to transmit information. Implementing an all-digital UWB receiver has numerous benefits ranging from low cost and ease of design to flexibility. Digitizing an RF signal near the antenna, however, introduces its own set of challenges and has traditionally been considered infeasible. A high-speed, hi...

A Tiq Based Cmos Flash A/d Converter for System-on-chip Applications

The analog-to-digital converter (ADC) is an essential part of system-on-chip (SoC) products because it bridges the gap between the analog physical world and the digital logical world. In the digital domain, low power and low voltage requirements are becoming more important issues as the channel length of MOSFET shrinks below 0.25 sub-micron values. Moreover, SoC trends force ADCs to be integrat...

The Circuit Design of Current-Mode Image Sensor Embedded Smooth Spatial Filter With Flash A/D Converter

The paper presents a current-mode CMOS image sensor embedded smooth spatial filter algorithm with a flash analog-to-digital (A/D) converter. The sensor includes a 66×66 pixel array with an on-chip 6-bit A/D converter that can identify the output value of pixels in gray level resolution. The last row of pixel cells (1 ×66) based on the double sampling is used for reducing fixed pattern noise (FP...
